The top bars of these frames measure 317mm (12 1/2") long and the total height is 202mm (7 15/16"). They will work in any Warré hive that is built to official Warré specifications, which means that the hive bodies must have 300mm (about 11 13/16") inside dimensions (square), rebates that are 1cm x 1cm (about 3/8" x 3/8"), and a total height of 210mm (about 8 1/4").

You can convert any top bar Warré hive to a framed hive by simply purchasing and installing these frames and Metal Frame Rests. You can also simply use one or two frames in the center of one or more boxes of your Warré hive and keep using top bars in the other positions. That way, your hive is still quite bee-friendly, but will comply with any and all laws, you’ll be able to take a close look at things if you wish, and you’ll have the option of swapping a comb or two with another hive if the need ever arises. These frames can also be used in our Warré inspired octagonal hive (maximum of two per hive body) by putting them in place of the two center-most top bars.

If you're assembling the frames yourself, nails will be provided.

Frames do not include beeswax or foundation and foundation pins.
