This is an excellent set-up for the hobby beekeeper. Elastic provides a snug fit at the waist and wrists and Velcro flaps cover where the zippers intersect making it virtually bee-proof. An elastic band within the hat keeps it snug around any size head and wire rims at the top and bottom of the veil ensure that the screen stays away from your face. The hat/veil can be partially unzipped, allowing you to remove it from your head and flip it over your back while working, or it can be totally unzipped so you can machine wash the jacket. There are two lower pockets that are kept closed with Velcro and an upper chest pocket that is zippered.

IMPORTANT: Bee-proof protective clothing does not exist. Regardless of what you wear, there is always some chance that you will eventually be stung. That is just a fact of beekeeping. This jacket/veil will offer you protection that is comparable to a high-quality full bee suit IF you wear it with the correct denim jeans. Many newer-style jeans on the market are made of a lightweight denim that bees can easily sting through. A traditional pair of denim work jeans is what is required, such as a Levi 501.
