This is simply standard beeswax foundation, for use in the frames of Warré hive bodies that you intend to use as supers and then harvest by using a centrifugal extractor. If you plan to harvest honey from your supers by “crush and strain” method, then we recommend using the plastic foundation instead. Be sure to read Supering a Warré Hive for a detailed explanation of why you should always use frames and foundation in honey supers.

This foundation has 5.4mm cell size and is not recommended for use in boxes where brood will be raised. Each sheet is already cut to the proper length to fit the Warré frames, but the depth must be trimmed with a good pair of snips (the wires are very hard). Foundation pins are included (4 per sheet) . We recommend using 7 sheets in combination with 7-Frame Spacers. If you wish to install all 8 frames in your supers, simply select “8 sheets” form the drop-down menu when ordering.

Although we will happily replace any foundation that is damaged in shipping, there will be absolutely no returns of foundation accepted. All sales of this item are final. NOTE: We do not install foundation into frames under any circumstances because it’s fragile and doesn’t ship well when it’s already in the frames. Even if you purchase your frames assembled, installing the foundation is your responsibility.
