• The 1cm x 6cm entrance (narrower than shown) helps the colony protect the hive against robbers and doesn't require a mouse-guard in winter.

• If you purchase an assembled hive with top bars, you can choose to have us prep and install those top bars for you so that the hive is bee-ready when you receive it. • If you purchase an assembled hive with frames and metal frame rests, you can choose to have us assemble those frames for you so that the hive is bee-ready (except for the waxed guides or foundation) when you receive it.   Tip: If you are using top bars only (not frames) you can make your hive more manageable by applying Tung oil to the top side of each top bar. Review the written instructions to learn more, as this is not discussed in the video.
